I’m an artist as well as a gardener, and flowers have always been one of my favorite subjects. Years ago I decide to make a flower painting in the form of a mandala, which is simply any design using a circle within a square. Since then I’ve painted and drawn many flower mandalas, and occasionally I’ll post them in this blog. Today I’m sharing the first one I ever painted, called “Morning.” This post is more visual than verbal, more art than gardening, but I'll at least tell you about the big central flower - that's a 'Godaishu' tree peony from my own garden. The rest of the flowers came from my garden or my imagination - I'll let you guess.
